‘I hate my job’
‘I live for the weekend’
‘I am sick of doing the same thing every day’
‘I count down the hours until I leave’
‘I dread going to work’
‘I should be getting paid more’
‘I am not getting the progression I want’

If you find yourself regularly thinking this, IT IS TIME TO MOVE ON.

I am confident when I say most of us will have felt this way at some point in our career. I am not going to lie, it is never easy to break routine, take risks, start something new and jump into the unknown.

On the flip side ask yourself whether you are happy to spend EVERY day knowing this is not something you want to do, you are never going to be happy, things are never going to change. The answer is …no.

Are you complacent or is fear keeping you there for much longer than you would have liked?

If you are still reading this and wondering if a move is on the cards, let me help you out. Here are 10 tell-tale signs that you need to move on.

  1. Honestly. You should be an artist. Your doodles are amazing. Have you been practising?
  2. 8 hours. It feels like you have been there double and more?!
  3. You might cry as soon as you walk into the office.
  4. Throughout the day you have travelled the world on a yacht, climbed Mount Everest, won the lottery, set foot on the moon-10 times over. Oh. There I am. Day dreaming again.
  5. It’s 11am and you have done 1 thing and managed to make yourself look busy    all morning, although you have achieved you best score on Candy Crush. Oh and managed to bag yourself a tinder date for Saturday.
  6. You know you are sick before you are actually sick and speedily recover within 1 day.
  7. Everything makes you angry. Even just being there.
  8. Progression seems 20 years away.
  9. You keep telling yourself you are worth more. There are 10 jobs on Cherry Picks website that pay over £5k more than you are on now?!
  10. You clicked on this blog in the first place.

It may surprise you that there were 756,000 vacancies from October to December 2015. (Usually deemed the quiet period). This is the highest since records began in 2001. http://goo.gl/5oHwxJ

So in the words of Confucius, “choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life”
